Useful Field Of View: We are investigating the influence of the urban soundscape on the useful field of view task. We expect to show that our ability to detect objects in the visual periphery is influenced by the soundscape and that variability in performance is not determined by intensity alone. Playback of sound field recordings has been calibrated so as to correspond with sound level readings taken at each recording site.
